## What is CVE-2002-1360? In plain terms

It can be attacked from anywhere on the internet without logging in. If it works, the attacker can read data, change data and take it offline.

### The official description

Multiple SSH2 servers and clients do not properly handle strings with null characters in them when the string length is specified by a length field, which could allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code due to interactions with the use of null-terminated strings as implemented using languages such as C, as demonstrated by the SSHredder SSH protocol test suite.

### What kind of flaw is it?

- CWE-20: Improper Input Validation

### How an attack on it works

- Where an attacker can be: Anywhere on the internet
- How hard it is to pull off: Easy: no special conditions
