Which Xen vulnerabilities are being exploited?
This is the list that matters most: flaws criminals are using now.
None of Xen's published vulnerabilities is on the list of flaws known to be exploited today. We keep watching that list.
Which Xen flaws are most likely to be used?
Ranked by the latest exploit-likelihood forecast: the chance each flaw is used in an attack in the next 30 days. A high severity score on its own doesn't tell you that. Flaws shared by many other makers' products are left out.
- 15%CVE-2015-3456High
The Floppy Disk Controller (FDC) in QEMU, as used in Xen 4.5.x and earlier and KVM, allows local guest users to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds write and guest crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via...
- 13%CVE-2015-5165Critical
The C+ mode offload emulation in the RTL8139 network card device model in QEMU, as used in Xen 4.5.x and earlier, allows remote attackers to read process heap memory via unspecified vectors.
- 11%CVE-2023-20588Medium
A division-by-zero error on some AMD processors can potentially return speculative data resulting in loss of confidentiality.
- 6.9%CVE-2022-21123Medium
Incomplete cleanup of multi-core shared buffers for some Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable information disclosure via local access.
- 6.5%CVE-2022-21125Medium
Incomplete cleanup of microarchitectural fill buffers on some Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable information disclosure via local access.
- 6.5%CVE-2022-21166Medium
Incomplete cleanup in specific special register write operations for some Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable information disclosure via local access.
- 5.5%CVE-2022-21127Medium
Incomplete cleanup in specific special register read operations for some Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable information disclosure via local access.
- 5.2%CVE-2023-20593Medium
An issue in “Zen 2” CPUs, under specific microarchitectural circumstances, may allow an attacker to potentially access sensitive information.

1 new flaw affects software Acme tracks
The x86-64 kernel system-call functionality in Xen 4.1.2 and earlier, as used in Citrix XenServer 6.0.2 and earlier and other products; Oracle Solaris 11 and earlier; illumos before r13724; Joyent SmartOS before 20120614T184600Z; FreeBSD before 9.0-RELEASE-p3; NetBSD 6.0 Beta and earlier; Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and R2 SP1 and Windows 7 Gold and SP1; and possibly other operating systems, when running on an Intel processor, incorrectly uses the sysret path in cases where a certain address is not a canonical address, which allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted application. NOTE: because this issue is due to incorrect use of the Intel specification, it should have been split into separate identifiers; however, there was some value in preserving the original mapping of the multi-codebase coordinated-disclosure effort to a single identifier.
